This year’s Annual General Meeting was opened by Jonathan at 7-30pm on Thursday 5th May. No apologies had been received, Committee Members present were Jonathan, Lesley, Ross, Lorraina, Steve and Wilbert. Jonathan welcomed some 17 members and gave a report of 2021 AGM.
Lesley gave a short report on the last years events. Working party cleared deceased members plot. Last Committee Meeting had only 3 attendees so no actions could be implemented.
February Zoom meeting: 4 attended with 3 apologies. Items discussed Rents,Theft/security, New website & ememails, gate & hardstanding, rubbish accumulating on plots , N A.G.T. and next AGM.
April – Skip to clear another plot . Fire on a plot killing all hens and substantial damage to buildings. Thanks to Claudette’s rapid action no further damage caused. Fire chief expressed his concerns about the state of the allotments in general. Awaiting his report. Rules 6, 7, and 17 if adhered to would have prevented this. Suggested An inspection of all plots and give advice on rules and regulation, action to be taken if not complying.A visit by 70+ 5/6 year olds from Oakway School also took place and a great day by all.
Membership Report. Round robin to get to know everyone. 17 attendees. 150+ plots 7 available to relet.
Treasurers Report. Although funds are good there are lots of bills to pay. Concern was raised at money owing some £600. Half of which is owed by one plot holder. Secretary to send letter to assist in repayment .
Committee members re election. Joe to stand down. Committee as a whole was nominated by Tony Seconded by Dom and unanimously passed. Newbie Russell Carr was nominated by Steve and seconded by Tony, also unanimously passed.
AOB. Concerns about asbestos left on some plots . Ross to clear and dispose of.
